In November 2000 my normally active, outgoing preteen daughter was not at all herself. She became tired, weak, and abnormally quiet. It was soon that we learned that she was suffering from type 1 diabetes and was immediately admitted to the children's hospital in our area. From this point on her and our lives have not been the same.
Although coping with a serious illness can be devastating, it did not at all phase her. She remains very positive and has never once complained about her plight. She was a very active child through grade school, junior high, and high school where she cheered on the school's team. She has even gone on to cheer for her college team. Diabetes has never been a crutch for her to lean on. She plans to study nursing, which she decided on shortly after being diagonosed.
Designs by Diana was created to help my daughter and others cope with their situations in a fashionable, stylish, and respectable way.
